The use of 'movement therapy' during dialysis improves the effectiveness of the treatment.
Movement of the legs (or arms) will promote better blood circulation and contribute to a more efficient dialysis treatment. In addition the rhythmic movement will allow the patient to become more relaxed and make the experience of treatment less stressful.
The MOTOmed has a number of in-built training programs. The 'dialysis' program can be setup to provide a combination of passive and active operating modes.
A variety of scientific studies (listed below) provide evidence of the efficacy of movement therapy during dialysis.
